Injury Prevention

As women footballers, it's important to understand how our body affects our performance, and what we can do to ensure we support it the best we can as we train and play.

The Women's Football Centre has partnered with Habit Health to provide educational and physio support to those at the Centre.

Learning how to reduce our chances of injury is key. Pam from Habit Health discusses how we can reduce the risk of injury. This talk covers topics including the importance of keeping active, strength training, and the impact of the menstrual cycle.

Menstrual Cycle

You can find the diagram Pam is pointing to below. Get to know your own menstrual cycle and how it affects your body during the different phases.

FIFA-11 Warm Up

We highly recommend completing the FIFA 11 warm ups (the warm up we do before every Women's Football Centre session) prior to any games, whether it is a full-sided (11v11) game or a small sided (5-a-side or 7-a-side). By completing the warm up you greatly reduce the risk of injury when playing.

You can view or download these the warm up and background to the warm up below.
