Kimberley (she/her)

Founder/Content Creator

As someone who only began playing football in their mid 20s, Kimberley completely understands how hard it can be to begin a sport as an adult.​

Kimberley set up the Women's Football Centre with the intent of making the process of getting into the sport easier for other women in similar positions, whilst also helping build a positive women's football community in the region.

Kimberley's keen to share all the tips and tricks she's learnt through her years of developing her own game. She also takes the photos and videos at the Centre.​

Monika (she/her)

Head Coach/Technical Director

Originally from the US, Monika brings over a decade of football experience having played competitively since she was a kid.  Now based in Wellington, she coaches the Island Bay United Gemfish and is passionate about helping women build confidence on the pitch.

Monika is passionate about creating a fun, supportive environment where players can grow their skills, understanding and love for the game—just as her coaches did for her. 

Bailey (she/her)

Coach

After playing football for 10 years and losing the spark for the game, Bailey hadn't played in nearly 10 years but the The Women's Football Centre allowed her to find joy in the game again and return to playing the sport she grew up with.

She is passionate about supporting beginners and allowing people to find their own joy in the game, whether it's playing, watching or coaching. 

Bailey plays for Wainuiomata AFC, helping their team gain promotion in their first season back in the Capital Football leagues.
 

Ciara (she/her)

Coach

Ciara has been a coach at the Women’s Football Centre since 2023. At just 19, she’s already spent three years inspiring players to build confidence and enjoy the game. She currently plays competitively for Seatoun AFC's Women's first team, whilst also coaching girls football at Island Bay United.

Alongside coaching and playing, Ciara captures the spirit of football through photography, showing her passion for the sport both on and off the pitch.

Laura (she/her)

Coach

Laura has played football as long as she can remember and loves how the game connects people and builds community. She has moved around a lot, but always found friendship and connection through sport.​

Laura is excited to help more women and non-binary folk get involved in football and find community. She hopes to ensure a warm and inclusive learning environment for all.​

Laura currently plays for Seatoun AFC's Women's second team.

Lucinda (she/her)

Coach

Growing up in Wellington and with over 17 years of football experience, Luci brings a wealth of knowledge from both competitive and social play. Now in her third year with the Centre, she’s excited to see what this season brings. After several years coaching kids, Luci has taken on a new challenge this year by coaching a women’s team at Island Bay United.

A passionate and dedicated coach, Luci strives to make football a fun and rewarding learning experience for everyone.

Maja (she/her)

Coach

Maja’s football journey started with the little leagues as a toddler. It quickly became a constant in her life growing up. She has been involved in many sides of the game, having played competitively for years, reffing at university, and most recently coaching.

Maja is excited to continue her love for the game by sharing her experience and helping others find the joy in the sport at the Centre.

Sian (she/her)

Coach

With over 20 years of football experience, Sian has spent much of her time playing and coaching in mixed spaces, giving her a strong appreciation for dedicated women-only environments. She’s passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where people can comfortably pick up a new hobby, build confidence, and make new friends. Now in her third year as a coach, Sian believes in the value of learning the basics and aims to bring positive energy to every session, helping others grow their skills and love for the game.
